I bought the journals and covered them myself. They are a bit expensive as they are primary journals--allowing a space for a picture and primary rule for my beginning printers/writers--but it's worth it. I just buy a few every month and collect them. I always present them to students in January and make a big deal about them. At the end of the year the kids take them home and have a great memory of their 1st grade writing journal.
Just out of curiosity, did the school or the kids buy the journals?
